A1 architects _ rounded loft

 A1 architects have designed this lovely loft apartment. The choice of materials creates a beautiful harmonious feel: clean white walls, concrete details, wooden furniture. This is a lovely base to work with and I'm sure it would look great with some colourful personal paintings on the wall. I love the built in bookshelf and how it's integrated with the stairs and also how the concrete loft is rounded creating a warmer space. Again the use of a more rustic table for the dining area has been used. This is a touch that I like in general and that can be seen in my previous posts.

 

Alberto Burri

 Alberto Burri, Italian artist born 1915 died 1995. I first saw Burri's work at the modern art museum in Rome and fell in love instantly. I love his use of materials, simple cuts and colours. The first work of his that I noticed was a canvass sliced open with a red screen visible through the cut. The other work was like the bottom of a crusted lake. I love the use of rust in artwork, and Burri uses it in an amazing way.
His urban planing could be frowned upon though, and although I hate it in a nature-loving way, being the eco-monster that it is, I adore it in an artistic and filosofical point of view.

Mirò - my favorite painter

 Joan Miró1893 –1983 painter from Barcelona, Spain. I had seen pictures of Miró's work in the past, but it wasn't until I saw 2 of his paintings live in Centre di Pompidou, Paris, that I actually fell in love with his work! To be precise, it was his three "Blue" paintings that made me fall to my feet. How could something so simple be so dramatic. I spent ages staring at these three paintings and felt myself falling into their depth. Kandinsky is one of my other favorites (but I'm also very picky about periods when it comes to both these painters, as they went through a few desisive fases that aren't exactly my style). That sounds spoilt doesn't it? lol. My other favorite painter (but I'm not sure here whether to say artist or painter, as his work is more arty than actual painting..). I will write about him next time!
