Thesis bachelor's degree 2008

These are some renderings of my thesis for my bachelor's degree that I took in 2008. The project was a library/mediateca in a degraded area of Rome. The initial idea was that of the messenger holding a script to be read. This was integrated with the idea of uniting two main shapes one which is solid and calm and the other that is dynamic. The curvature of the dynamic piece was created to optimize the use of natural ventilation. Also the double skin was used in order to reduce heating and cooling costs.
I was quite pleased with the result and so was the jury. Let me know what you think!

  1. WOW MS. C, I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT ARCHITECTURE, ALTHOUGH I AM HUGE FAN OF READING ABOUT IT, SPECIALLY THE OLD ROMAN GREEKS PERSIAN AS WELL AS THE EGYPTIANS STRUCTURES. I LIKE TO SEE DOCUMENTARIES IN U TUBE REGARDING WHO DESIGNED THEM, FOR W...HAT MOTIVES AND HOW MUCH IT COST THEM. THAT IS ALL I KNOW AS FAR AS MY KNOWLEDGE, HOWEVER, I AM HUGE FAN OF SIMPLE YET EFFICIENT SPACES, AND THIS ONE, I TRIED TO INMERSE MYSELF IN IT, TRYING TO FEEL WHAT U FELT WHEN DESIGNING IT. I LOVE THE CALMNESS FROM THE INSIDE AS WELL AS HOW WELL U UTILIZE THE SPACE GIVEN TO U. I WOULD ONLY RECOMMEND ON CONSIDERING ON CHANGING THE COLORS OF VIDEO ROOM, BOTH WALLS AND FLOORS ARE THE SAME, ALTHOUGH U MIGHT SAY, WELL, WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE OFF, U DONT GET TO SEE THEM AT ALL, WHICH WOULD BE A GOOD POINT AS WELL.
LISTEN, IF I EVER MAKE LOADS OF MONEY, U AND I WILL SIT DOWN, AND U WILL DEFINITIVELY WILL DESIGN MY HOME IN COSTA RICA, BY THE BEACH.
    WELL DONE AGAIN!!!
HAPPY 2011 FOR U AS WELL.
