Toilet sign _ DIY

Hi!

Today I had this idea for a toilet sign and thought I'd make a prototype. These two rotated exclamation marks
resemble the boy and the girl. I made these easily and quickly out of Forex, which already has a red plastic film on one side. I decided to let the girl have a red dress and a white head and the boy a white body and a red head. I don't know if its been done before but I thought it was quite clever. Cute, aren't they? I wish we had better looking doors at home and this would look even better.

Dream swimming pools

hese swimming pools are pure dreams. And they have one thing in common: they're all on the island of Santorini in Greece. Pure white cave surroundings, clear blue water and breathtaking views of surrounding volcanic islands makes these pools so amazing.
I did a boat-hopping travel there as a teenager having an amazing time, staying at cheap hotels and could only drool about these hotel. Often the suites have a private pool or dipping pool either indoors, semi indoors/outdoors or with the amazing views of the ocean.

Astra hotel, Santorini.

An indoor dipping pool in the Palace hotel, Santorini.

An indoor swimming pool straight from the bedroom at the Astra.

A romantic sunset.

Infinite pool with a spectacular view.

Talk about a relaxing experience to have a swim here on a warm evening with a glass of wine with your loved one. This is from the Pegasus Hotel suite.

I personally love this idea of a private dipping pool with a view! Sooo romantic!

This shape is smart, allowing a downstairs seating area while from the pool seeming like an infinity pool with the ocean in the background.

Beautiful white apartment with random chairs

Seriously, how nice is this apartment? I stumbled across it in a pop-up ad for houses for sale in Sweden. This one is in the center of Malmö. It's only a small apartment, 46m2 I believe. Ok, so it's mainly the effort put into the furniture which is what I love. Sadly when you buy a place you don't get all the lovely things that this person has found. I LOVE the odd chairs around the table (big theme of last year that I wrote about, that I still love). I LOVE the white-washed everything and the organised chaos. How they painted the table, but didn't do it all tidy, but it has the paint running down the sides of the wood. How the bench also has been painted with a semi-see through paint. And being a "green" person myself, I love how the alive green plants are the main splash of colour in the room.
White may be a colour that has been used over and over again, but look what a relaxed feeling it gives here, when the rest of the layout is a bit more random! I wouldn't mind a bit more colour though: a coloured rug (my choice in this case would be a colourful recycled cloth rug, those cheapo ones you find everywhere), a throw over on the armchair or painting, etc. would be nice.
Anyway, congratulations to this homeowner on a lovely choice of furniture. I can't wait to have my own place so that I can start collecting.

Peanut - the chihuahua

Hello, my name is Peanut!
Can you get any cuter than this??
I'm not sure how much she weighs, but when she snuggles up she fits in my hand.
This is one of the photos the breeder posted of her the same day I bought her. She was so adorable in real life that I couldn't resist!

Cutiepie! Her face is half white half "blue".

In her huuge bag/bed.

Sleeping on Marco's arm.

She kinda thinks she's a monkey!

Cuddles.

She has 3 "blue" circles! So sweet!

Wonderful white

My mum has decided to paint the inside of her summerhouse white! As it is now the inside walls are covered with a wooden panel that my grandpa put up about 15 years ago. Considering that the walls, ceiling and floors are all wooden it makes it feel smaller than it actually is.
So now mum asked me what colour she should paint her furniture. If painting them white is too much.
The floors will remain wooden so there will be some colour left. Taking this into consideration I think white is a wonderful choice. It's almost as if you can never have too much white. BUT a few items of colour are appreciated. Here are some examples of scandanavian architecture to give you the picture...

A "typical" scandanavian home. Light wooden floors, white walls, and ...white furniture. Note however the bright green vase by the window. This example by Anna Kern.

Again, light wooden floors and white walls but this time with black furniture details. I also love the cardboard moosehead as a "environmentally and animal friendly" version of a real moosehead. This is from the April and May blog.

This is a vision of how it would be if some furniture items were kept in the original wooden colour. This works well in this case considering that the floor is also white.

I really love these colourful details. I never used to like yellow and orange before, but I have to admit I'm becoming quite fond of them both. This is from Elle Interior magazine.

I really love these colourful details. I never used to like yellow and orange before, but I have to admit I'm becoming quite fond of them both. Not the wooden crete. A part of last years big "recycle" trend. This is from Elle Interior magazine.

This is a photo shooting done by Emma of Emma's design blog.

This is the home of Henrik and Susanna Nygren.

Ikea's magazine. A white example with just one black furniture piece. The only colour here is the green of the leaves.

Rustic home with white painted floors and old white furniture. Great look that takes longer to accieve than one might think.

This is an apartment that was for sale about a year ago. I loved the bright pink carpet and the colourful paintings making this house more dynamic.
